Your phone is listening and it’s not paranoia

Y

WE’VE ALL THOUGHT IT.  We’ve all feared it! Sam Nichols wrote about his experience, which coincides with the experience of millions of Americans.

It can’t happen here

Everyone thinks it’s a conspiracy theory, that “couldn’t happen here!” Well, we’re here to add to Mr. Nochols‘ story that the very same has happened to us.

We’re driving down the road having a conversation about getting groceries when we get to our destination. One of the items mentioned multiple times was bug spray.

Low and behold the next time I logged into Facebook on my iPhone, here were Amazon ads for bug spray. Can that be a coincidence? Then, I’m getting these email alerts from Amazon like “You may be interested . . . ” or “Look what we found. . . ” all about all kinds of insect sprays.

We do not use “Hey Siri…” and do NOT have Alexa or any of the other “assistants” or “smart speakers.”

Try it for yourself.

Have your phone running, like for navigation, and talk about something you would never, ever talk about. Plan a vacation to Romania, or Baltimore.

Mr. Nichols explains it much better than I would, so here go and read : “Your Phone Is Listening and it’s Not Paranoia”

Thanks for reading.
