Which search engine is better, Ecosia or DuckDuckGo?

W

Someone recently asked me which search engine was better, Ecosia or DuckDuckGo?  So I wrote one of my “Teachable Moments” … this is a very difficult question to answer.

I’ve added Google into my answer because that’s the one to benchmark.  They’re all fairly good, and as you might expect, nobody is as good as Google. Of course, unless you’re one of the millions who really hate Google. Then the second choice would probably be DuckDuckGo.

We’re leaving. The second secession, Nuevo California

The rabid Left seceding from the U.S.

Secession is the withdrawal of a group from a larger entity, especially a political entity Threats of secession can be a strategy for achieving more limited goals.  A secession attempt might be violent or peaceful, but the goal is the creation of a new state or entity independent from the group or territory it seceded from.  The South seceded from the Union which brought on the Civil War.  We all know that story. The Death of Advertising

T

advertising all about the money

I’m chasing a story and getting lots of references for my research.  Washington Post, blocked unless I subscribe.  Wall Street Journal blocked unless I subscribe.  We’ve come to the point now that web advertising is not working.  I ran my web site for 30 years “ad free”.  Why spam your customers? Are we witnessing the death of online advertising?

Brilliant fund raising ploy? Maybe, maybe not

hillary Clinton

I’ve written a lot about fund raising and marketing for a cause. Just search the Design Center for “Marketing Update” . . . but this beats them all!

Since the impeachment craziness, then the pandemic, and all coupled with the prospect of an election in November, can the world get any crazier?  Well, I didn’t think so until I heard somebody is paying one-hundred-grand for an online chat with Hillary!

The Problem of Calling Donald Trump an Idiot

T

who is an idiot?

Most of you already know I don’t usually take sides, and I’m not particularly a fan of Donald Trump. But seriously folks, when is enough, enough?  I’ve been blocking and deleting friends on Facebook because of their prolific, venomous, insidious hate in political posts — I don’t hardly have any friends left!

What is most shocking is that people will lie and spew slanderous garbage just for their own gratification with no thought of reality.   Of course Trump is not an idiot.  You don’t become a billionaire and the President of the United States by being an idiot. Or stupid. So each time someone says that, you know they’re either just lying or they’re stupid.

Everyone needs to read : “The Insidious Problem of Calling Donald Trump an Idiot”
